Front Row Studio for Windows

Free full release 1.0.2 is available in Microsoft Store for ARM64 and Intel / AMD x64 PCs. Microsoft Store manages installation and updates.

Get Front Row Studio from Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store chooses the package for your PC. Availability depends on your device and region.

The Windows edition focuses on private local recording: camera preview, optional microphone audio and a separate saved MP4 copy. It requires no Front Row account and does not broadcast or upload recordings.

Read Windows recording help for the recording workflow, retained files, recovery and updates. See Windows recording privacy for local capture and optional support sharing.

Choose the version for your PC

Requires Windows 11 on a 64-bit PC, an available Windows-compatible camera and enough storage for private recordings and saved copies. A microphone is optional.

Open Settings → System → About and check System type. Choose ARM64 for an ARM-based processor, or x64 for a 64-bit Intel or AMD processor. Use the native ARM64 edition on ARM PCs.

What is included in 1.0.2

A free full release with camera preview, an optional microphone, private MP4 recording, checked saved copies, retained-take recovery, local content drafts, and light, dark or system themes. No trial or in-app purchases.

Optional input channel meters and headphone monitoring are included. Select your headphones explicitly and turn on Listen; listening starts off for every session. Listening volume does not change recorded audio. An output change or loss stops listening and requires you to enable it again. Headphone sound, latency, stereo separation and physical unplug/reconnect remain unqualified. This release does not include broadcasting, screen sharing or cloud uploads. Local drafts are planning aids; they do not publish a show.

Recording on a physical Intel or AMD PC has not yet been tested. Virtual-machine testing does not establish picture, sound or synchronization quality on your hardware. An earlier sustained ARM64 VM test showed audio timing differences whose cause and audible impact remain under investigation. Make and review a short saved test before an important session.

Updating and keeping your movies

Microsoft Store supplies updates for the Store edition according to your Store and system settings. Before uninstalling the Store edition, save the movies you want to keep outside its private cache: uninstalling removes that cache and its recordings. Separate saved copies remain outside it.
